I have been told numerous times now since starting Mike’s Tykes that our prices our just to low and that people will think our dogs are sub par animals. Well that is strictly not the case. I assure you our dogs are just as good a quality if not better than the majority of breeders out their. We use only the best registry AKC(American Kennel Club) and all of our dogs were chosen because they are perfect or near perfect examples of their particular breed. Reece’s my Boston stud comes from a line of champions and most of my females have the thumb print or Haggerty Star which comes from the direct line of Haggerty Boston Terriers which are known for being the highest quality of Bostons. My boxer also come from a good line of stocky well built dogs. They have good blocky heads and stocky, muscular bodies. I would not hesitated to place any of my dogs next to another breeders for any one to compare the two. I could very easily sell my pups for the high dollar of other breeders, but my aim is for the average individual and not just the well to do.

My prices are lower because I love dog. I’ve always loved dogs. The problem is I couldn’t always afford the types of dogs I wanted, sometimes I still can’t. Time and time, again as I grew up, I’d find a dog I liked to be told a price far above what I could afford. Sure I could always buy a mix of some kind or get one that’s not papered, and I have owned plenty of those I assure you. There is just something about knowing that you have a dog with a pure bloodline out of good parents. Knowing that it doesn’t have a long line of health problems, or any kind of genetic defect in its family line or a history of abuse in its past that could cause them to turn on you. Now that I own my own kennel I figured why not let other people that, like me, live on a budget that cannot necessarily afford a huge price, but would still make loving parents for my pups. Why should only the well to do be allowed to possess high quality dogs. So I have priced my pups so that the average working individual can afford them, and not because of their lack of worth.
